A local motorcyclist died after colliding with a truck at an intersection in Santa Ana. A Garden Grove man was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle heading eastbound on 17th Street. As he entered the intersection at Linwood Avenue, he ran into a Toyota Tundra driven by a Santa Ana man who was turning left onto Linwood Avenue.
The motorcyclist was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in the intersection. Orange County paramedics took the injured motorcyclist to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he was pronounced died at 10:55 p.m.
The driver of the Toyota Tundra remained at the scene and cooperated with responding police officers. Alcohol did not play a role in the accident according to initial reports.
